Capelas village
The house is situated in the village of Capelas on the west coast of the island, approximately a 10-minute drive from Ponta Delgada, the capital of Azores. Capelas, a charming little village, boasts two small ports, with one known as "Poços" having served as a pivotal hub during the centuries when Capelas thrived as a significant whaling center. Nowadays, visitors may catch a glimpse of undisturbed whales swimming along the coastline. Additionally, Capelas offers popular natural swimming pools by the shore. The house is conveniently located within walking distance of the village's centre, cultural/ historical spots and the small harbours.
São Miquel Island, Azores
São Miguel island is the largest island in the Azores, where the capital city, Ponta Delgada, is located. With only 5-10% of the island developed, the majority remains untouched and nature thrives. There are numerous well-maintained and beautiful hiking trails available, as well as many cultural events throughout the year.
